Director

Cory J. Mendenhall is in his sixth season as the Choir Director of the Mapleton Chorale. From 2002-2009, he served as the Choir Director and Performing Arts Department Chair at Provo High School. Beginning in Fall 2009, he is serving in the same capacity at Maple Mountain High School.

Cory demonstrates extraordinary talent and passion for his profession. In 2005-2006 Mr. Mendenhall, was recognized as one of the nations top music educators in the popular "Who is Who in America"; publication. In the same year he was recognized as Provo High School's Teacher of the Year.

He currently serves as an Associate Choir Director and Fireside Organist at the Missionary Training Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immensely enjoys that opportunity.

He graduated with his Bachelors of Choral Music Education from Utah State University in May of 2003. He studied Choral Conducting & Literature with Dr. William Kesling. While attending USU, Mr. Mendenhall was chosen as the USU Chorale Student Conductor of the Year in 2001. He served as the Undergraduate Aural Skills Instructor from 2000 to 2002, and studied Organ Performance with Dr. James Drake.

Cory and his wife, Aprel, who actively supports all of his musical endeavors, live in Spanish Fork with their 6-year-old daughter, Leah, and two-year-old son, Nicholas.
